OLD COMRADES.
SECOND BIRTHDAY HELD. - -The Old Comrades' Association held a successful and enjoyable evening to close the second year of its existence. A cake presented by one of the members was iced and decorated with the association colours and two candles, ami this too ktlie form of a Christmas and birthday cake combined. The tables were daintily arranged and decorated with sweet peas and antirrhinums. A programme of items by friends of the association was thoroughly enjoyed, and after supper and community singing the evening closed with a presentation by the committee members to the president and secretary. A vote of thanks to the artists was recorded. Those present were Mesdames Eogers (president), Lanner Shanglund, Jones, Briekell, Rvfe (secretary), Orpin, Verwell Simpson, Bapata, Goodenough, Northern, Browne, Burbidge, McCom'bs, j Pickett, Casparich, Harrison.
