TRAPPED IN SHACK.

MAN BURNED TO DEATH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, this day. Mr. Joseph Olliver, aged 57, was burned to death at 3, Urquhart Street, Wanganui, at 11.30 last night", when fire broke out and he was trapped in the shack in which he was living. It is believed that Mr. Olliver went to bed with a candle alongside, the flame setting fire to the bedclothes. When tha brigade arrived, the flames had a strong hold and it was impossible to rescua Mr. Olliver. His body was charre4 beyond recognition.
