Mrs. Les Monks entertained a number of her frierfds at a jolly party held on board the Show Boat this week. The hostess "looked charming in royal blue georgette'and gold with short white fur cape. 'The guests were: Mesdames F. Robinson, Max Nairn, Stan Waters, N. MacGregor, Phil Martin and Misses D. Haig-Sinith, Gay and Nance Endean, iris Corjiley, Helen Sealy (Sydney). The ladies of Paparata tendered a kitchen evening to Miss L- Sturgeon on the -occasion of her, approaching marriage, The evening was a very popular one arid a large number of settlers in the Paparata district assembled in the lpeal, school, where games were interspersed 'with dances.
