OWNER-DRIVERS.

'VARSITY LECTURES PROPOSED Proposals for the inauguration of a series of lectures and demonstrations for owner-drivers of motor cars by the school of engineering of the Auckland University College in co-operation with the Automobile Association (Auckland) were discussed at a meeting of the council of the association last night. A letter from Professor S. E. Lamb, professor of engineering, suggested that a fee of £1 should be charged to each member of the association for a series of 23 one-hour lectures during next winter and asked for a 'subsidy to assist the school. The matter was left in the hands of the president and secretary, who were authorised to send out 1000 leaflets to members to find out what sort I of response would be met.
