CAMPWARD BOUND.

CHILDREN SET SAIL,

COMMUNITY SUNSHINE EFFORT.

Though the weather prospects were not all that could have been expected for the start of a great adventure the 125 children who sailed on the steamer Baroona for Motitihi Island this morning did not appear to have any troubles on that score. They were bound for the Community Sunshine Association's health _ camp on the island, and had in prospect several weeks of delightful holiday. What if this morning was wet? There are plenty more days at the start of a holiday. The party, comprised 75 boys and 50 girls, and as they assembled this morning aboard the Baroona their expressions were a delight. If the holiday is not a success it will not be their fault. Neither will it be the fault of the association,j which has made excellent arrangements I for their entertainment. The children will be catered for in every way, even to the provision of summer clothing—two pairs of shirts and shorts to each child. The camp will be conducted by voluntary workers with the exception of the matron and cook, and the children will be well looked after. Expenses have been kept as low as possible, but this year the association faced the hurdle of expending about £350 on the purchase of new equipment! to replace bedding, furniture and cutlery taken from the hospital building by the Government for the use of the Defence Department and other branches of the Government service.
