Mr. G. R. Hutchinson returned to Auckland from the South by the Limited this morniusr. Mr. W. Bromley, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, returned to Wellington last night. Mr. F. L. Combs lias been elected a member of the council of Victoria University College, Wellington. The Eight Hon. J. G. Coates, M.P., arrived from the South by the first express this morning. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Justice, left for Wellington by the express yesterday afternoon. Mr. J. S. Barton, chairman of the Bondholders Commission, will leave for the South by the Limited to-night. Mr. Justice Callan and Mrs. Callan, accompanied by their son, leave for Dunedin by car to-morrow morning. Vice-Admiral J'. E. T. Harner, who is respiting New Zealand after an absence of ™2 years, is now in the South Island. Mr. P. W. Maddock, general manager for Metro-Goldwyit-Mayer (N.Z.), Ltd., lias returned to Wellington from Auckland. Mr. Trevor Lane, of Wellington, arrived by the Limited this morning to spend several days in Auckland. He is at the Station Hotel. » Mr. W. G. Christie, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, Wanganui, is retiring on account of ill-health, and Mr. R. J. McDonald, manager of the Taumarunui branch, has been appointed manager at Wanganui. Mr. E. J. Allender, assistant manager of the D.1.C., Wellington, has accepted an appointment as general manager of a wholesale manufacturing and marketing organisation which will commence operations shortly with headquarters in Wellington.
