BUSINESS IS QUIET. SALES SLOWING DOWN. A slackening in the demand on the j Stock Exchange is still apparent, and business is limited. At this morning's, call bidding was rather quiet, and only a| small list of sales was put through. | Reserve Banks had their first transac-! tion this week, which was unchanged at £5 15/0, but a subsequent sale was at Oil lower, after which buyers dropped back to £5 14/, with sellers absent. New Zealands improved a little, with quotations ■ between £2 8/ and £2 8/2. i Government stocks were offered a little more freely, and '46's were again avail- : able at £104 12/0. . j Woolworths Again. [ At the noon cr.ll there was fair bidding,' and a moderate turnover was recorded. Bank of New Zealunds had fresh business at £2 8/, leaving sellers in at that figure.
