PUKEKOHE PRODUCE.

LiOCAIi ONIONS AVAILABLE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, this day. The demand for Pukekolie potatoes has slackened off considerably, but is still quite good. Other centres such as Wanganui, Otaki, Hastings and the Hutt are now in the peak of their season and are able to supply their own needs. Good supplies are still coming forward and are rather ahead of the demand, and values have fallen a further £1 per ton during the past week, merchants now quoting from £S 10/ to £9 10/. The market for new season's local onions has opened, and the light supplies coming. forward are meeting a ready sale at 10/ per cwt, a low price for the commencement of the season. The placing of local onions on the market has had the effect of-reducing the price of Californian onions by 4/ per 1001b gunny, limited supplies being offered at 15/.

Owing to a very heavy demand for cabbages over the past three weeks supplies are now very short and merchants are experiencing difficulty in filling orders. Prices remain at a high level, all-heart being quoted at 8/6 per large sack and Enfield Market at 7/6. Following a shortage of cauliflowers, which has lasted for several weeks, supplies have become exhausted and only occasional small lots are offered, these selling at very high values. Carrots are also off the market at present. Rhubarb is bringing 3/6 per dozen bundles, while green peas are selling at market rates; tomato plants, 3/6 per box of 50.
