"BETTER TIMES."

GUARANTEED FARM PRICES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Lee Martin, stated to-day that the method of putting the policy of guaranteed prices into effect would be one of the first matters tackled by Cabinet when it resumed work after the New Year. He said he had had the fullest assurance that everyone connected with the Department of Agriculture would unite in assisting the Government to implement its programme. The Labour Government, said the Minister, would apply itself to raising the standard of farm life, eliminating its hazards and uncertainty and making it the most attractive life of all. He could assure farmers that they could look forward to better times.
