SURF LIFE-SAVING.
TAKAPUNA CLUB. Officers olccted at the annual meeting of the Takapuna Surf Life-saving Olub: Patron, Mr. W. 11. Wilson; vice-patron, Mr. J. Guiniven; president, Mr. B. C. Hart; captain, Mr. N. G. Gal'braith ; vicecaptain, Mr. G. Cameron; team captain, Mr. S. V. Higgins; secretary and treas-urer,-Mr. E. , McCaffery; instructor, Mr. S. V. Higgins; assistant instructor, Mr. K. Feran; swimming instructor, Mr. G. Cameron; auditor, Mr. E. A. Tucker; delegate to the Auckland Association, Mr. E. McCaffrey; committee, Messrs. S. Thomas, li. Johnstone, G. Usher, R. Patterson, E. Tucker. A successful season was reviewed in the report. In addition to a considerable amount of educational work the report stated, members of the club were responsible for several rescues. A points competition was held during the season, H. C. Sidford securing the highest aggregate. Winners of other competitions:—Surf race, E. McCaffery; musical flags, C. J. Sidford; belt race, IST. G. Galbraith; 100 yds beach race, C. J. Sidford. The club was represented at the Dominion championships, securing third place in the inarch past, while X. G. Galbraith registered fastest time in the heats of the water events.
