TAKANINI TRIALS.

YESTERDAY'S GALLOPS. NUN NICER AND FLOOD TIDE. Tile middle grass, with the' poles 28ft out, was in use at Takanini yesterday morning, the going being in excellent order. . Thangilamba (Howard) was allotted five furlongs, which she traversed in 1.9, Landlubber (Lee) taking 1.10 for a similar task. Anion (Inglis) had the measure of Lapis Lazuli (Pell) at the conclusion of half a mile in 575. Nln Nicer (Taylor), with the assistance of Flood Tide (Stratton) over the last six furlongs, completed seven furlongs in 1.33, Flood Tide being a couple of lengths in front of his companion at the finish. Ebb and Flow (Taylor) took 1.43 for seven furlongs, while Dark Marble (Lee) and Huskie (Fearn) got to the end of a mile in 1.55. Dancing Lady (Howard), with an advantage in the weights, defeated Enge (Fearn) over five furlongs, which occupied 1.6. G'enacre (Taylor) beat Red Hawk (L. Dulieu) over five furlongs, which occupied 1.6 3-5, after the latter had got the best of the start. Tin Lap (Fearn) was a ]engtli in front of Surella (L. Dulieu) at the conclusion of half a mile in 545, while Ammon Ra (Stratton) got to the end of a similar task in the same time. Mossvale (Lee) and Emancipation (Fearn) completed the last three furlongs of their work in 41s, the former being seen to most advantage. The Gay Shield — Kitty Barlowe colt ran two furlongs down the .back in 25 l-ss, and High Quality partnered the Romeo —leingarch gelding in a similar task, 'but they were not timed. Wait arid See completed the' last half-mile of her work at three-quarter pace. Greek Gold (Walters) gave an excellent exhibition 'of jumping over four fences, being seen to better advantage than Needful (P. Mcllroy), while Lap Up (C. Walters) showed proficiency in a bout over three fences. , The following horses from Takanini are due to leave on Friday for Te Rapa: Ballymoney, Surella, Dark Marble, Tin Lap, Thangilamba, Lap Up, Merry Lap, Wait and See, Red Hawk, Nun Nicer and Greek Gold. Riding engagements announced are: P. Fearn, Tin Lap; P. Mcllroy, Greek Gold; R. McTavish, -'Nun Nicer.
