ALL HALLOWE'EN PARTY.
A Hallowe'en party, organised by the members of the Brown's Bay Women's Institute, celebrated recently in a very weird atmosphere at the Progress Hall, Brown's Bay. Guests were received by witches and ghosts swathed in white, and conduct I to two soothsayers. The walls were decorated with replicas of turnips, owls and black cats. The hall was plunged into darkness when the usual ghost story was told by Miss Johnstone, amid the hooting of the'witches. A miscellaneous programme followed, including a ghost dance by Misses Morgan and Mead and Mrs. Stone; a mime, "Blue Beard," by Mesdames Moller and Stone and Misses Morgan and Mead; a violin solo by Miss Johnstone; a duet by Mr. and Mrs. Broad; sketch by Mesdames Moller and Mitchell. After supper community singing and games were indulged in.
