FIVE YEARS AHEAD.
MR. GATTY'S PREDICTION. STRANGE "VACATION." (Received 10 a.m.) HONOLULU, November I. Mr. Harold Gatty and Dr. Dana Coman will sail on Sunday to inspect tho equatorial islands from Honolulu to Pago Pago in the yacht Kinkajou, stopping at Jarvis, Baker and Howland Islands to pick up two men left at each of these islands by Dr. Coman last August. Mr. Gatty returned from Washington in the Malolo on Thursday. He claims he is spending a vacation "to loaf and try my hand at fishing." He has been granted furlough for the remainder of tho year from his duties as navigation instructor to the United States Army at Rockwell Field, San Diego, California, and expects to return about mid-Decem-ber.
The aviator adds that he and Dr. Coman are organising a guano exploitation of the small islands with headquarters at Pago Pago. He says he does not expect the Honolulu-Auckland service to start in less than five years but disclaims any knowledge of the plans of Pan-American Airways. „
