HUMEA ELEGANS.
The plants of this useful decorative species that are growing in pots will by now have abundance of roots and have a good hold of the soil. They may be given another move into larger pots if required, but as a rule the majority arc grown in Oin or Sin pots and only a few specimens are put into lOin pots. The plants can be given a little weak liquid manure once or twice a week. If thero are any signs of red spider or tlirips dust the plants with flowers of sulphur; in fact, the easiest way is to dust the plants now and then, especially tho undersides of the leaves. A compost of equal parts of loam and leaf soil, with enough old mortar rubble broken up finely to keep the whole porous, is required. Care in watering at all times and cool treatment is necessary.
