DIVIDING MAIDENHAIR FERNS.
Tho maidenhair fern is best divided and repotted in spring time when the fronds are beginning to push up. The old plant can be turned out of the pot and cut into pieces. Just how large these pieces are to be is a matter for discretion, but whatever size do not give a larger pot than necessary. Once they are growing they can be potted into larger sizes. Over-potting is mostly the reason why maidenhair ferns, palms, aspidistras and such like so often fail to do well.
