ON THE VILLAGE GREEN.

"Brighton Camp" is the nam© of our first dance. It is one of the ones known as "the whole! set dance," which means that a series of progressive movements take place. In each round, the position of the dancers will change till all once more regain their original positions. FORMATION: Arrange your set of five couples, as shown in picture No. 2, last week's issiie: Women on the right of the men, all facing towards the "top." All the men take their partner's right hand in their right, while the two left hands are joined underneath. STEP: Tiie step used throughout all three figures is "skipping." MUSIC: Use the eight bars of music marked No. 1 for movement 1, fitting in 10 skipping steps to this. No. 2 is for movement 2 and 3, using "repeat" as indicated. MOVEMENT 1: Beginning with the right foot, the first couple "cast off," which means turn outwards to the left (see diagram and photograph No. 3) and, followed by the other four couples, skip to the bottom of the set (eight skips), then "lead up the middle," back to the top, regaining original positions on the fifteenth count. On the sixteenth beat drop hands and separate, facing your partner, leaving two paces between the lines of men and women. MOVEMENT 2: The "top" (first) couple now join hands. The man holds his partner's right .hand with his left and her left in his right. With their hands joined in this way, they lean well away from each other and skip round, describing a series of small circles,
