THE AUCKLAND CLUB. EPSOM CHRISTMAS MEETING. £5615 IN STAKES; CTTP LIMIT 4.29. The programme committee of the Auckland Trotting Club has arranged a very attractive card, with stakes totalling £5615, for the summer carnival, to be held at Epsom on Friday. Saturday and Tuesday, December 27. 2S and 31. A pleasing feature of the programme is that horses in every class from novice to cup grade are catered for. The chief event is the Auckland Trotting Cup of £750, two miles, limit 4.29. for horses assessed at that mark or better, which will be run on the first day. On the second and third days cup horses are catered for with the Champion Handicap, one mile and a quarter, limit 2.45, and President's Handicap, two miles, limit 4.29. each being worth £300. In these races there is no restriction regarding assessments. For horses a little outside these classes there are three races of £275. two at two miles, limit 4.34. ■ and one mile and a half, 3.23 limit, and two of £230. one mile and a quarter, limit 2.47. For straight-out trotters there is a 3.49 mile and a half race each day, while the intermediate trotters have a 3.42 mile and a half and 4.56 two miles, of £180. The Rowe Memorial Handicap of £200, on the first day. is for 4.56 two miles horses. The Great Northern Trotting Derby will be run on the second day. There are six two-mile races at the meeting, three ot which are on the last day. The programme is: — First Day.—Selby Handicap of £130, trotters, limit 3.49, one mile and a half; December Handicap of £130. limit 3.5. one mile and a quarter; Grandstand Handicap of £275, limit 3.23, one mile and a half; Auckland Trotting Cup of £750_, including gold cup valued at £50, for horses assessed at 4.29 or better, two miles; Christmas Handicap of £150, limit 3.38, one mile and a half; Rowe Memorial Handicap of £200. trotters, limit 4.56, two miles; Akarana Handicap of £160, limit 3.33, one mile and a half; St. Heller's Handicap of £230, limit 2.47, one mile and a quarter.
