TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.
The spring meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club will be held at Eilerslie on Saturday, November 30, and Monday, December 2, and particulars are advertised in this issue. The Alison Cup of £320, one mile and a quarter, is the chief event on the first day, while the Takapuna .Plate o£ £250, seven furlongs (tor which entries have closed; is next in importance. The Cheltenham Handicap of £ 165, sis furlongs, is the principal sprint race, while the'other events are the Melrose Hack of £100, six furlongs; Spring Handicap of £120, six furlongs; X'iri Hurdles, of" £150, one mile and three-quarters; Cambria Handicap of £115, for two-year-olds, five furlongs; and the Ponui Handicap of £130, one mile. On the second day the St. Andrew's Handicap of £275, one raiie, is the leading event, while the other races are; Vauxhall Handicap of £100, six fnrlongs; Stanley Handicap of £130/ one mile; Kawau Hurdles of £130, one mile and three-quarters; Rakino Handicap of £100, for two-year-olds, rive furlongs; Pupuke Plate of £250, one mile (entries closed); Xgataringa Handicap of £150, six furlongs; and Cautley Handicap of £120, seven furlongs. General entries and final payments for the Takapuna and Pupuke Plate, close with the secretary, Mr. R. A. Spinley, at 5 p.m. on Friday next.
