FATAL SLIDE.
MAORI BOY KILLED. CRASH INTO A POST. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Friday. As the result of sliding down arf overhead wire, a 10-year-old Maori boy* named Reuben Waru was killed at Mangatu this afternoon. The boy's uncle had a cowshed erected at the top of a hill, 200 ft high, and the milk cans were sent down to the road below by means of two overhead lines of fencing wire. '.t-\ The lad left home to do the milking, and his body wa3 later' discovered against a post at the road end of the wire line, he having slid down and, being unable to check his momentum, crashed into the post. Death was instantaneous.
