SMOKING OF OPIUM.
OFFENCE BY CHINESE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIST, Friday. As the result of a vrsit by detectives to premises in Stafford Street last evening, a Chinese, aged 38, appeared in the Police Court to-day and was fined £12 10/ for smoking prepared opium. When surprised by detectives, accused was lying on a bunk in a shed, at the rear of the premises. A warm pipe and other smoking paraphernalia were found.
