THE ROYAL SHOW.

OPENED AT HASTINGS. BIG INGE-BASE IN ENTRIES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. The Royal Show at Tonioaua Showgrounds, Hastings, opened this morning in dull weather, with a slight drizzle. The weather prospects are not particularly good. The opening ceremony was performed by Lord Galway during the afternoon.

If the weather is reasonably fine tomorrow all local records for attendance will be broken. Entries are about 1000 greater than for any previous show held locally and about 700 more than at latt year's Royal Show at Invereargill.
