FARM LABOURER'S ARREST. ALLEGED USE OP HAMMER. Allegations of a serious nature were made- when Patrick Charles Lawrence, aged 23, farm hand, appeared in the Police Court this morning, charged with assaulting Howard Stenning Stone yesterday. ) Sub-inspector Fox obtained a remand until October 30. Mr. Hopkins, who appeared for Lawrence, asked- that bail bo allowed. "If bail is granted I would ask that it be. fairly substantial/ , said Subinspector Fox. "Accused is > alleged to have struck his employer's son on the head with a. hammer. Stone is not too well and the police will not be able to see him for a few days.'
