BABY SHOULD NOT CRY
Fallacy Exploded by English Authority. EXAMPLE SET IN MOSCOW. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, October 15. "It is wrong for mothers to think a baby should cry in order to learn how to breathe properly," declared Dr. Hughes, lecturer in acoustics, addressing members of the Institute of Electronics. He added that the belief that a baby who cries is necessarily in possession of lusty lungs is a complete fallacy. He described a visit paid by English doctors to a Moscow clinic where there were 1000 babies, not one of whom cried. He suspects that they were isolated and that their tendency to cry was thus corrected. "Babies," he added, "only cry by invitation or tuition." EMPIRE PARLIAMENT. FLYING WIPES OUT DISTANCE.
