SALE AT PARNELL. A GOOD CLEARANCE.

The sale of hides at the Parnell stores yesterday was the best for two years. Values were up from Vol to %d per lb. There was a full and representative attendance of tanners, fellmongers and shippers. Dry and salted sheepskins sold at unchanged rates and tallow was firm. Following are quotations'.— Sheepskins.—Dry: Halfbred and fine crossbred, BVL'd per ]1>; medium crossbrcd, 7%d; coarse crossbred, SVzA; half to threequarter wool, 7%d; lambs, 6V2(1 to B',4d; pelts, 3d to 4%d. Salted: Best, 5/4 to 5/10 each; good, 4/6 to 5/2; hoggets, 3/3 to 4/2; pelts, 1/ to 1/3.

Hides.—Abattoirs: Extra heavy ox, G%d per lb; heavy, 6%d; medium, 6%d to GV&d; light, o%d: extra heavy cow, heavy, ■medium and light, 6%d; kips, 6%d; yearlings, 7%d; best calf, 10V£d; good, BVz(\ to 9%d. Country butchers: Extra heavy ox, GVfed; heavy, 5%d; medium, s'/id; light, sVi<l; extra heavy cow, 5%d; heavy, 594 d; medium, 5%d; light, 5%d; kips, 5V6d; yearlings.
