j ABOUT £90 IN BANK NOTES. MOUNT ROSKILL BURGLARY. The sum of about £90 in bank notes was stolen by a thief who broke into the grocery store of Mr. G. H. Townsend, at the corner of Dominion and King's Roads, Mount Roskill, during the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Townscnd, between six o'clock and 10.30 last night. On returning to their house, which adjoins the shop, Mr. and Mrs. Townsend were unable to enter, the back door having been latched from the inside ay the thief. Mr, Townsend had to enter by forcing open a window in tiie washhouse. The bank notes, all being singles except two £5 notes, were taken from the cash register in the shop. There was no evidence that the thief had searched the rooms of the house, where other sums of money had been left. The stock in the shop was not disturbed.
