ALEX. MURRAY'S WIN.

DECISIVE FACTORS. Alex. Murray, tlie popular young Auckland professional, scored a welldeserved triumph in winning tlie New ' Zealand open golf championship for 1035. Murray is a professional golfer teaching the game at Wisemans Indoor Golf School in Queen Street, where he is partnered with Arthur Girling —possibly the best known and most capable golf coach in New Zealand. Arthur and Alex, have recently been joined in the golf school by Jock Gibb. It is interesting to learn that Alex. Murray went into strict training for some months before the championship and was in perfect physical condition when he left for Christehurch. In addition he put in month? of hard intensive practice both indoors and outdoor, gradually correcting all errors until, by September, he was at the top of his form. What possibly helped him more than anything, however, was his set of clubs. Murray played with a full set of Cliffco clubs. TCnrlv in the year he found that the ClifTco 'twin taper irons suited his game to perfection- —powerful clubs —easy playing and with positively no jar. Cliff and Co. in their modern factory at Emrlnnd made a special test of three Cliffco woods to sneeial dnsisrn and this is the only set of its kind in New Zealand. Thptse arrived only four weeks before the championships and were the clubs which repiilnrly drove 300 yards and more at Shirley. Supplies of tlip Alex. Murray championship clubs will be arriving early in the New Year. Many golfers are now booking up for lessons at Wisemans Golf School with Alex. Murray when he veti" - n° from th" championships. All friends will ioin in congratulating him on his sple>dkl performance with his Cliffco clubs. —( \d.)
