MODEL AEROPLANES.

THE AUCKLAND CLUB. FOUR RECORDS BROKEN. At the iedoor meeting of the Auckland Model Aero Club the members made full use of the facilities offered by the big Town Hall. In indoor flying there is little if any help from uprising air currents, and the models must make the whole flight under their own power. An ideal day, just warm enough made flying condition* ideal and the results show this high standard :— Hand Launched Spar Event.—V. B. It. E. Allen, 0.5, 2; L.' Shaw, 4.44, 3. Fuselage R.O.G.—V. B. Gray, 5.41 3-5, 1 ; L. It. Ma.vn, 3.46 2-5, 2; K. E. Allen, 3.7 4-5, 3. New Zealand Records Broken.—V. B. Gray, two as above (senior) : It. E. Allc.n, junior spar (R.0.G.), 5.34 4-5, and junior spar. 11.1,., 0.5. Although there is no connection between the governing bodies of the two countries, this fine flight of Gray's heats the existing Australian indoor record held by J. Jago, Malabar, New South Wales, of 7.45, and file English indoor record of only 2.29 held by R. N. Bullock. Negotiations arc in hand to have this flight recognised as an Empire record. KESTREL CLUB. Tho Kestrel Model Aero Club held its usual weekly meet at Srndringham on Sunday. A large number of members attended and good flights were registered, although _ a high wind prevented any records being broken. The machines flown by A. Weaver. W. White and S. Eadc flew right out of the flying field and were lost to sight. A. Weaver's Wakefield Cup mode] flew for 2.29. This was one of the four machines that were sent to Wembley, England, for the international championships. It be/it Ihe lime put up by the winner of the AVakefield Cup.
