COUNTRY FIRE LOSSES.
LABOUR CANDIDATE'S HOME. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, tliis day. A four-roomed house in Takira Road, two miles from Waimiha, owned by the Waitomo County Council and occupied by Air. Jock Jones, official Labour candidate for Waitomo, was totally destroyed by fire on Saturday morning. Mr. Jones, his wife and son had to maka a hurried escape, and were unable to save any of the contents. FARMHOUSE DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Saturday. A four-roomed farmhouse situated in Hill Road, A'wakeri, owned and occupied by Mr. Newman McGougan, was completely destroyed by fire this morning. The b.;ilding was insured in the Standaid office for £250.
