There was a slightly larger entiy of ox beef at the Wcstfield fat stock sale to-day. The quality of the yarding was not as good as of late and the number penned comprised several lines of plain and unfinished steers. The yarding also included a tew lines of turnip-fed cattle, this beef being of very good quality and fully up to the standard of the past few weeks. With an improvement in feed cattle arc likely to remain at late rates for the next few weeks. Top price of the morning, £16 10/, was realised for a steer from Mr. 11. E. Heed, of Waerenga. Bidding was steaoy throughout and for extra choice and choice quality quotations are about the same. For plainer cattle values are inclined to be easier.
