HUMOROUS ENTRIES RECEIVED.
CONTRIBUTIONS OF A HIGH STANDARD. The "Historical Conversation" competition held recently proved most popular and the entries received were varied and humorous. Joy McGarry, whose article was the best of the prize winners, submitted an entry that was lightly written and of an unusual type. This dialogue will be printed elsewhere on this page. Esme Peacocke and Miriam Simpson also sent in entries of quite a high standard, while among the certificate winners Frances Kelly deserves special mention for her wellwritten and topical conversation between the Duke of Wellington and Mussolini. Entries for the junior section, the conversation between two nursery rhyme characters, were of an even higher standard. Rex Hunt gave little Bo Peep some exciting adventures to recount, while Pam Bray sent in quite a good dialogue between Jack Horner and Bo Peep. Congratulations are offered, too, to Jack Laing and Beverley McCarthy for their specially good efforts.
