DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB. THE OPENING DAY. FIELDS FOR TO-MORROW. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. The spring meeting of tho Duncdin Jockey Club, which opens to-morrow, promises to be the most successful the club has haiT "or some years. The McLean Stakes, the first real test for the two-year-old championship of the South Island, has drawn a field of fourteen youngsters. Five of them competed in the John Origg Stakes at Ashburton, and tho remainder will be making their first _ appearance. Practically all the prominent South Island stables are represented, and the race promises to be most interesting. Should the fine spell of weather continue the track will bo hard and fast.
