The meeting of tho Auckland Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in tho clubroom, Y.W.C.A., on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. John Cook presiding. Maori day was observed and a collection taken for the Dominion Maori work. A letter of congratulation was sent from the union to Mr. and Mrs. Bridgman on the occasion of the diamond jubilee of their wedding. The Rev. J. F. A. Stimpson gave an address on "The Signs of-tlia Times," quoting from the Old Testament prophecies and also from the New Testament.
The school of methods of the Women's Christian Temperance Union met this week in the temperance room, when Mrs. Kasper presided over a good attendance. The subject of study, "The Wines of tho Bible," was introduced with a paper written by Miss Piper, president of the Nortlicote W.C.T.U. All present took part in the discussion which followed and a paper written by Miss C. M. McLay, Dominion organiser for Y work, proved helpful and instructive.
At the executive meeting which followed, 28 members of various unions were present. A report of the recent district convention was given by Mrs. Williams, recording secretary, and Mrs. LewiSj recently appointed district treasurer, was warmly welcomed.
