Air. F. K. Hunt, S.M., returned to Auckland by the first express this morning, after a brief visit to Wellington. Air. C. F. Eskeil, manager in New Zealand for Universal Films, Limited, left for the South by train last night.

Sir Alexander Young, Minister of Health, is expected to leave for the South by the Limited to-morrow night.

Air. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, returned to Auckland by train this morning after a visit to Wellington. Air. A. H. Tompkins has been reelected chairman of directors of the Bartholomew Land and Timber Co., Ltd., Hamilton. Air. E. F. Guinness, of Mount Eden, who was injured in a motor cycle accident six weeks ag'o, is making a good recovery in the Auckland Hospital. Captain T. J. Watts, secretary and advisory superintendent of the United Fire Brigades' Association, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning. Sir Stephen Allen, chairman of the Transport Co-ordination Board, and Air. L. Aiderton. a member of the board, will leave for the South by the Limited to-morrow night. Air. E. G. Martin, managing director of the Atlantic Union Oil Company in Now Zealand, who returned with Mrs. Alartin by the Mariposa yesterday, leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Air. and Airs. Alartin are at the Grand Hotel.

Messrs. W. E. Parry. W. J. Jordan, A. Harris, A. J. Stallworthy, F. W. Schramm, A. J. Murdoch, A. S. Richards, W. W. Massey, VV. P. Endean and H. G. R. Mason. M.P.’s. returned to Auckland from Wellington this morning. Dr. James, M. 1).. Ch.B. (N.Z.). has been appointed by the Bishop of Melanesia to the Mission Hospital at Faubu. Dr. Janies has had six years' experience in the tropics and will take up his new work at the New Year after three months' furlough in New Zealand. Mr. H. R. Wi"ley. a son of Mr. R. L. Wigley, tranagitt" director of the Mount Cook Tourist Company, has successfully passed the test for hi- A pilot's license after only ten days' tuition by the Canterbury Aero Club. This is probably a record for rap’d mastery of the art of flying in Now Zealand.
