LANDING GROUNDS.
AVIATION FACILITIES. FORTY-FOUR AERODROMES. (By Telegraph.—rn.rliajnentnry Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Emergency landing grounds were discussed in the House of Representatives last night when the Defence Estimates were under consideration, Mr. D. G. Sullivan (labour, Avon) asking how many were to bo provided and whether the Defence Department was to bear the whole cost. Ho also asked whether the grounds would be available for civil aviation. The Minister of Defence said the Department had under consideration 44 aerodromes and Ul» emergency landing grounds. Some of the grounds that had been approved belong to local bodies. The Defence Department carried out the surveys and the Unemployment Board contributed a certain amount of the labour.
