LAMB PRICES ADVANCE.
LATEST FROM SMITHFIELD. BANK'S P.EPORT. The following cable, dated October 2, has been received by the Bank of Australasia from its Loudon office:—Frozen lambs: Seasonal falling off in demand, but as there are only limited supplies in store and afloat prices have advanced for both prime quality and secondary New Zealand; thero are also more inquiries for Australian lambs at better prices. Frozen mutton—New Zealand wethers: Faildemand, prices steady. Ewes and Australian mutton, however, rather difficult to sell. Frozen beef: Market dull, _ only moderate business has been done at slightly lower prices.
