BREACH OF LICENSE.
LABOURER SENTENCED,
"You have a criminal record and the probation officer says you are a thief, said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning in sentencing to imprisonment Robert Hulme, a labourer, aged 20. Accused admitted a charge of theft of an attache case and clothing at Putaruru valued at £2 8/G, and also the theft of £3 10/ in money at Huia. He also admitted a breach of his probation. Senior-Detective Hall said accused stole the attache case and clothing from a boardinghouse at Putaruru on September 2, and later from a farmhouse at Huia stole £3 10/ from a writing desk.
William James Campbell, probation officer, said that accused, who had been serving a term of imprisonment, was released on license on May 9 last, a condition of the license being that he report at certain times to the police. Accused had reported but once.
On each of, the two theft charges accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the sentences to be cumulative.
