SURPLUS FOR YEAR.
AUTOM.OBILE ASSOCIATION. "GET-YOU-HOME" SERVICE. The accumulated funds of the Automobile Association (Auckland) on August 31 stood at £15,102. For the year ended on that date the surplus of income over expenditure was £0.54, and the membership increased by 1074 from I"). 200 to 10,874. These figures are supplied ill the report to be presented at the annual meeting of the association.
The loport states that during the year 1250 new signs were erected, and 1700 red flags were used to mark temporary danger spots. Eleven months ago the : 'get-you-home" service was inaugurated and since then 1300 motorists had been assisted, the average cost of each job buiiiJj 11/11.
