UNIFORM FARES.
AIR TAXI LICENSES. RATES FIXED BY BOARD. UNRESTRICTED FLIGHT C. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. New conditions for air taxi lecense3 have been deeifleil upon by the Transport Co-ordination Board. These include the fixing of uniform fares and the allowing of flights to all parts of New Zealand. The decision concerns all aero clubs as well as Air Travel (N.Z.), Ltd., the Waikato Aviation Co., Ltd., New Zealand Airways, Ltd., East Coast Airways, Ltd., the Mount Cook Tourist Co., Ltd., and Cook Strait Airways, Ltd. The decision means lhat New Zealand Airways, Ltd., will be able to use its Boeing 'planes for air taxi work over any part of New Zealand, except on aerodromes rated as suitable for light aircraft only. The board has decided to amend all licenses granted for air taxi services by adding to each the following condition as to fares:—"Minimum fares, one passenger, £3 for each 100 miles; two passengers, £3 10/; three passengers, £3 15/; four passengers, £4; but where a flight takes place between two points served by the same regular licensed service individual fares shall in no case be less than the fare charged by the licensed service, plus 10 per cent."
The new provisions are intended to continue for one year, as from October 1, 1935. They are subject to alteration if found necessary, but in any ease they will be reviewed at the end of a year.
