HARRIERS.
CALLIOPE CLUB. The annual prize-giving function of the Calliope Harrier Club was held in the Victoria Hall, Birkenhead, on Saturday evening. There was a full attendance of members and club supporters, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Dancing occupied the greater part of the evening, while Miss E. Berry and Mr. D. Lunny contributed vocal items which were much appreciated.
The club president, Mr. W. E. Patterson, thanked those who had given their support to the club, and expressed the hope that the progress made during the past year would be repeated in 193 G. The club captain, Mr. A. E. Davis, made reference to the successful year the club had experienced and made mention of several outstanding performances.
The presentation of the trophies won during the season w'as made by Mr. W. C. McCombie, club captain of the Lynndale Club. Those who received trophies were: Novice Handicap, "5 miles, W. D. Smellie; Veterans' Handicap, 22 miles, A. Copeland ; Eyre Koad Handicap, 33 miles, W. Clapham ; Eyre Teams Kace Handicap, winning team, W. Clapliain. I. Hall, \V. D. Smellie, A. Copeland : Club Championship, six miles, A. E. Clow; runner-up, A. E. Clayton ; sealed handicap, C. Sanders; Junior Championship, three miles, W. Claphum ; runnerup, I. Hall ; sealed handle ap, K. Fagan ; Koliu Handicap Kelay Kace, 11J miles, winning team, E. A. Bentley, O. Gatman, It. Wallace, E. Turner; field events trophy, K. Wallace; sprints trophy, A. E. Davis and E. A. Bentley, equal; attendance certificates, A. E. Davis, I. Hall and L..J. Lanigan; consistency trophy, V. B. Ushakoll. 7
