CAPE YORK IN PORT.

MARIPOSA IN THE MORNING.

1 The Cape York, 5027 tons, of the Lyle Shipping Company, Glasgow,' under charter to the Union Company, arrived . shortly before 8 p.m. yesterday from Pacific Coast ports-and, Rarotonga. She loaded newsprint at Ocean Falls and Powell River and general cargo at \mcouver and Los Angeles. She brought 29 pedigree cattle from Los Angeles, eleven being for Auckland and the balance foi , Wellington. They arc in good condition. The ship met fresh sou'-easterly weather for the past ten days, which eased up as she neared port. Captain J. H. Thompson is in command. Tomatoes and coconuts were shipped at Cook Islands. She goes on to Wellington tomorrow afternoon. The Mariposa will arrive at 0.30 a.m. to-morrow from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Pago Pago and Suva,' berthing at seven o'clock at the Prince's wharf. She has 330 through passengers and lands 113 here. One hundrtffl and seventy will join her for Sydney and Melbourne, for which ports she sails at 9 p.m. Rangitane, which left Auckland last Friday morning with 170 passengers and a full cargo for London, radios that she has experienced moderate weather and reports "All well."
