TAURANGA FIRE BOARD.
I At the quarterly meeting of the Tauranga Fire Board, Mr. H. C. Clay, of Auckland, paid a tribute to the services of the retiring superintendent, Mr. James Padlie. Mr. Pad lie. who is retiring after 2(5 years' continuous service, wag presented with a case of pipes and a mahogany smoker's companion and was wished every success in his new sphere of farming. ! Mr. Padlie is to be succeeded by Mr. A.J i Stewart. _ I
