APPEAL FOR UNION.
STUDENT CHRISTIAN BODY,
An appeal to the student religious bodies —the Student Christian Movement and the Evangelical Union—to unite in the pursuit of their one objective was made by the Bight Rev. Dr. J. Dickie, moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly, in an address to members of the Auckland C.S.M.
Dr. Dickie said that he had often been sorry that the Christian forces of the New Zealand University colleges should be divided into two opposing camps. It would be a great thing if the Evangelical Union could be persuaded to unite with the larger and the parent bod;'', so that the forces of Christian service in the university should once again present a united front to the many forces which were opposed to that Christianity. After all, the differences were in great measure departing by themselves, and there was nothing quixotic in the idea of the two Christian bodies found in the colleges uniting on a common basis. A very little removal of misunderstanding on both aides would make an organic union possible.
