ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIP, PHELPS BEATS BERT BARRY. LONDON, September 29. Ted Phelps, the holder of the title, defeated Bert Barry to-day by 20 lengths in the English sculling championship, which was rowed over the PutneyMortlake course.
