Fire broke out in the homestead of Mr. W. Wright, Peria, M»tamata, but was noticed early, and a good save was made. The fire started in the waterheater cupboard, wl%# clothes were airing. and had a good hold when it was noticed. The cupboard and a fairly large portion of the wall and ceiling were destroyed before the flames were suppressed.
