WEEK-END ACCIDENTS
CAR PASSENGERS HURT.
ONE IN SERIOUS CONDITION,
Several accidents occurred during the week-end. For the most part they involved motor vehicles.
Falling from a motor car at the intersection of Mnnukau and Gardner Roads, One Tree Hill, about 3 a.m. yesterday, a young man, Mr. Robert James Wallace, of 7, Fern Avenue, One Three Hill, suffered a fracture of the skull. The car was driven by Mr. E. Jenkins, of Sea cliff Road, Hillsboro'. The injured man was given medical attention and then taken home. Later a St. John ambulance took him to a private hospital, liis condition being very serious.
As the result of a collision with a motor car, an assistant railway shunter, Mr. Kenneth Musgrove, aged 33, married, of 2, Pukenui Road, Epsom, suffered head injuries and concussion. He was riding southwards along the Great South Road at Papatoetoe about 11 o'clock yesterday morning, when his motor evele collided with a car driven by Mr. C. Nogat, of Grey's Avenue, Papatoetoe, also going south, at the Kolmar Road intersection. He was thrown heavily on to the road, being unconscious when picked up. Dr. C. B. Gilberd, of Papatoetoe, attended him. and a St. John ambulance took him to the Auckland hospital. His condition is not considered serious. When the car in which lie was riding went over a large bump in the road, on Saturday, a miner, Mr. W. L. Cooper, of 3, Haszard Street, Waihi, struck his head on the roof and suffered concussion. He was admitted to tlie Auckland Hospital, but his condition is not serious.
A fractured arm was suffered by •Tames Edward Lafrd, aged six, son of Mr. Edward Laird, of Angle Road, Te Papapa, when lie fell at his home yesterday afternoon. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance.
