LEADER DUE IN AUCKLAND.

ADDRESS AT TOWN HALL.

Great interest is being taken in the visit to Auckland of Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, leader of the Democrat party, who will give a political address at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. Mr. Hislop will announce the full policy of the party and also announce the names of the Democrat candidates who will represent the party at the general election. The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. Ernest Davis* will preside at the meeting. Mr. Hislop, accompanied by . Mrs. Hislop, is due to arrive at Auckland on Monday morning by tho Limited express, and.will be met at the Auckland railway station by Auckland representatives of the Democrat party. Later in the morning Mr. Hislop will visit Orakei for the purpose of meeting a number of the natives. The chief executive officer of the party, Mr. A. E. Davy, is at present in Auckland in connection with the work of organisation.

VICAR CHOSEN BY LABOUR,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this. day. The Rev F. L. Frost, vicar of Taradale, Hawke's Bay, is to be the Labour candidate for the New Plymouth seat. He was unanimously selected-by a party meeting last night, on the recommendation af the national executive.

Mr. Frost is an ex-soldier member Of the Hawke's Bay Education Board and a former member of the Napier High School Board.

ANOTHER WOMAN CANDIDATE

Miss Elsie Andrews, a former pro sident of the Women Teachers' Associa

tion, announces that she will contest the New Plymouth seat at the forthcoming election as an Independent. Miss Andrews yesterday resigned the position of infant mistress at the Fitzrov School, a position that she has held for 25 years.
