TAURANGA POWER BOARD.
£4000 LOAN PROPOSAL (Bj- Telegraph.—t)\vn Correspondent.) TE PUKE, this day. At a meeting of ratepayers in the eastern end of the Tauranga Electric Power Board's district, held at Te Puke, the board's proposal to raise a loan of £40,000 for the purpose of extending the power service was discussed. Particulars of the load inereaso since April 1 were quoted by the chairman. Air. G. if. Mends said that the money was required for the purpose of giving supply to new applicants. The loan was in the interests of all. It was impera-j tive for the board to have money to carry out extensions. Other members of the board who urged ratepayers t»> vote for the loan were Messrs. *S. H. McDougall, J. S. Blaymires, C. E. S. Gane. J. 11. Gill and W. A. Bennett. A motion approving the loan proposal wtirt curried unanimously.
