RING RACE.

This is a plain running race, though with a good deal more exeiteltieiiw than when an ordinary straight course is covered. Those competing form in a large ring, facing round so that they are prepared to set off running in the prescribed circle. There should be a space of at least two yards between each two.

At the starting signal all spring off in the same direction, each striving to overtake and touch the one in° front. Anyone, who is touched drops immediately out of the race, stepping outside the ring. The runnino- thus continues, one by one being eliminated until only the winner remains.
