TINKERBELL'S TRAVELS
1, Moody's Avenue, Whangarei. Dear TinkerbelT,— Have you ever been to Whangarei? It has some very delightful parks. One of the nicest, I think, is Central Park, It has a large pool of fresh v.yter which runs all the time over a big dam at one end. There are trees there and close beside is the men's bowling green, flow I wish you could see the pool in the summertime when all the children are swimming in it. Sometimes they slide down the dam, which is made of concrete, but not often, because some silly boys have thrown broken bottles down there.
There is also a park called Mair Park. Tlio water in this park is a mixture of Knit, and fresli as it is a fresh' water stream running down to the Whangarei lii vcr. There is a children's pool at I Mair Park which is very warm compared with the larger pool. Quite a few peoplo go to Mair Park, but not so many, I think, as go to Central Park. Just over the other side of the pool is a small hill called Parahaki. I have climbed this hill often and from the top one can get quite a good view of the whole town and the harbour. There | used to be n haunted house by Mair Park, but it has been pulled down now. 1 never saw it, but I have been told that ] it was an old, old house, with an old cellar, and the walls were covered with j ghastly drawings of ghosts and skele-j tons. Well, Tinkcrbell, ,1 cannot write ' any more just now for I cannot think j of Any more. I will write again next week, however, and make up for it. [ A faithful Budgetite, j Mary Church, j
