Memories of the old goM-mining days —when scores of "old-timers" carried their swags in many a rush on the West Coast of the South* Island—were revived at the initial meeting in Auckland of those interested in the formation of a local Coasters'" Association. It was unanimously decided to go ahead with the proposal. The following officers were elected: Patron Mr. J. Riordan; president, Miss Halm; vice-presidents, Mrs. J. H. Cook and Mr. E. J. Smith; secretary, Mr. S. Stevenson; treasurer, Mr. P. McGirr; executive, Mesdames W. Angel, J. Riordan, K. A. Kidd, McMahon, Miss Ryan, Messrs. W. Angel A.. R. Rudkin, A. Montgomery W. R. Horton and A. Webber.
